I got this for a family member whose young toddler is on the autism spectrum and has the tendency to wander out of the apartment on his own. This lock is very safe and easy to use for his age. However, the family was not comfortable to attach it using the glue back. They worried about damaging the rental property when they need to remove it.Since the child-lock is not suppose to be permanent, it would be great if the product also provides some solutions to removing it without damaging the surface.

One of my cats is getting very smart about opening door handles, so I needed something to keep them contained when necessary.The lock is decently easy to install. The worst part is that you have to hold the plastic against the wall for about 5 minutes (doesn’t seem like a long time until you’re actually doing it). After the lock is installed, it’s very easy to use. The lock has been durable and worked perfectly well so far. The plastic for the lock is a bit bulky, but it’s not so bad that I wouldn’t get this lock again.

The lever lock is well made and not so noticeable on white doors. When I first saw it I jumped to conclusions that it would work on exterior doors. I wanted it to solve a bad problem I have had for a long time with a cat that is very adept at hanging on the back door lever until the door opens and then takes off on his joy run. That can't happen here because of brazen coyotes. He will check the door many times per day to see if one of us has forgotten to lock the double deadbolt, and every once in a while we do forget. If I hear the lever being flicked up and down repeatedly that is my cue to go check to make sure we did, in fact, lock the door. Usually I am able to stop him, but if he gets out, then I go on a hunt to find him as fast as possible. Unfortunately, I did not read the fine print on the lever lock when ordering it that it only works on interior doors. I found out the hard way that my initial great idea was not so great afterall.Before I had seen this lever lock I was certain that I was going to have to change the back door lever handset to a new round knob set just to save our sanity. So I am now back to my original idea for shutting down my cat's antics and keeping him safe. I am saving the lever lock though, because I have yet to redo the interior doors of the house with lever handsets. The other place all the cats like to go is into cubbyholes in closets.
