Adhesion fails when oven heats up. Did not work at all.

I love this oven latch, it was easy to install and very easy to use. My son pulls on the oven door and it doesn’t budge! The only thing I would say to keep in mind is when I open the door the latch falls down so I have to lift it up before shutting the door.

This is the fourth time I have ordered this exact product. I LOVE IT! I have 4 children and have been using these since my 9 year old was 10 months old. This is the first time I am replacing one because it was no longer working. My past replacements were because we moved. This last one we had in use for 2 years and the adhesive strip finally failed. I am sure I could have reused the lock with a new adhesive strip but I didn't want to bother with it. I can attest to this holding up to a big 2 year old SWINGING on my oven door handle on several occasions. To properly install, you must make sure the spot you will adhere the lock to is completely clean and dry (blue dawn dish soap makes sure it is grease free). I have added a photo of exactly where you want to install the lock. The operation may take some practice but I was able to easily operate it with one hand soon after my first installation. That said, my mother still curses the thing every time she tries to use my oven (maybe 2-3 times/ year?) I think the slight inconvenience is well worth it for the peace of mind. Unlike other baby proofing items we have used, not one of my 4 children ever figured out how to operate this before they had no interest in doing so. HIGHLY recommended!

Super oven door lock, I really recommend this product!! It has lasted over 4 months so far and still going strong, despite my little one constantly trying hard to pull open the oven door! It is still stuck on even after cooking at high temperatures and looks stylish against my oven compared to other models that are available. This lock has really saved my sanity.Please excuse the grubby finger marks on the front of the oven. My little one loves looking at himself in the mirrored glass.
