Easy to assemble--though I wonder whether the 2 screws holding it together should be longer?The light is bright and pleasant. I don't stare directly into it, so it doesn't bother me like bright headlights.

It is solidly built and easy to use. It gives out great light for SAD therapy. I used to buy cheaper models, but don't waste your time. This one is excellent in every way! Absolutely perfect.

I’m really glad I read the reviews before I bought this lamp otherwise I may of been a bit disappointed with some of the features and the design. As others have said, it’s top heavy so it can easily topple over if not placed on a secure flat surface. The knob to adjust the lights angle doesn’t work well (probably the worst of it). But in saying that, I adjusted the light once and it’s stayed fine in that position. I will not be fiddling with the adjustments as long as I can help it since others mentioned having problems with it falling out of position. The lamp is not tall enough to have at your desk if you want to be under the light. I would recommend placing it on top of a shelving unit or perhaps sturdy text books. The best part is because it’s a bigger light I find being at a bit of a distance works great, unlike the smaller units that require you to be inches away in order to be affective. Others have mentioned the lamp looks cheap, but honestly I don’t notice, you can tell when you touch it that it’s not the most durable plastic but I think it looks really sharp.I have one additional piece of advice when putting the base and body together when you first get the lamp. The screws are a bit tricky to tighten, but worked well when I put them in at the same time rather than one after another. Overall for the price it’s really good if you don’t mind the design or don’t plan on adjusting the lamp often. Hope this helps! Happy days! :)

The tilt is too flexible and doesn’t stay in horizontal position very easy. Other than that the brightness control is excellent which is the main reason I purchased it :)
