This is a great radio remote and well worth the price. I bought the Canon version (with the 2.5mm cord) and it works perfectly with Fujifilm cameras. I have no use for the intervalometer settings as my cameras have those built in. As a quick test, I placed the camera in my back yard and went to the curb in front of my house. That's about 50 meters or so with the house blocking line of sight and it worked perfectly. I would go for a higher end pocket wizard setup if I was going to use this for professional sports, rocket launches or other situations where there are a lot of other shooters using remotes. My only complaint is that the trigger doesn't have an input jack to plug a foot switch into.

I shoot a lot of real estate nowadays, so some kind of remote release is always in my bag. Up until recently it was a good ol' YN-RF603. Then I had to destroy it in order to free up the camera's hotshoe - its locking mechanism has a design flaw that may keep the lock engaged without any chance of releasing it other than disassembling the unit while it's mounted on the camera. Which is exactly what happened to mine, the night before I was set to photograph some portraits... so I had to dremel it off....Where were we? Ah! So I needed a new remote release, preferably dual wired/wireless, ideally with a proper interval timer built in. I seldom use an interval timer in my work, perhaps only 2-3 times a year. And almost every time I need one, it's at home. So yeah, a combo sounded like a good idea.So what are you getting for about $10 more than the cost of a pair of YN603s? Quick pros and cons:+ Much easier channel change (although the last time I had to change the channel was 6 or 7 years ago)+ Interval timer works exactly like an OEM wired one+ C1 cable works with most Fuji cameras, as always (the likes of S1 will need a different cable though)+ Decent range, pretty reliable so far+ Good RF noise resistance, on par with PocketWizard+ Decent tactility of half/full press+ No way the receiver is getting stuck in your hotshoe, as it doesn't have any locking mechanism at all+ Thanks to lazy engineering, everything that lights up is concentrated on a relatively small flat surface on both TX and RX, so it's very easy to cover with a piece of gaff tape for ultra long exposure photography.- In a typical Godox fashion, this thing lights up when you press any button. No dimmer, no way to turn it off. If you're using it to trip the extra long exposure (for light painting, for example) while being in the frame yourself, that will be a huge problem.- The cable is straight (not coiled). C'mon Godox, what year is it?!- TX is shaped like a half used bar of soap, yet there's no way to secure it with a lanyard?!- Ergonomically awful all around: no non-slip texturing on TX, no tactile references on any buttons, button placement is totally weird, etc.- Works with NiMH rechargeables, but shows fully charged ones to be 2 bars out of 3. That is to be expected, as their nominal voltage is lower than with lithium or alkaline batteries. What's not expected is the fact that there is no way to set the charge indicator correctly for rechargeables. Again, what year is it, Godox?!- No IP or IPX rating. In short - workable unit, perhaps the best on the market currently, but Godox can do better next time. Much better.I'm going to keep mine. Probably will have to design and 3D print some kind of cradle to keep TX on a lanyard around my neck, with ability to flip it over to cover the screen. Likely will also add a blob of Sugru (or a piece of grip tape perhaps) to the shutter release button for tactile reference.

Elmer Fudd, the famous nature photographer, used the catchphrase, "Be vewwy qwiet - I'm hunting wabbit." He knew that wildlife is sensitive to noise and movement. When you want to take photos in an environment where every movement is to be avoided, you need a remote shutter release. Historically that meant a pneumatic tube with a squeeze bulb, or a mechanical cable. Modern cameras have modern analogs. While you can get a wired shutter release, a wireless one gives you a lot more flexibility. You can set up your camera far away enough for you to not alert any animals you want to photograph. You can even get in the picture yourself. For astrophotography, where any movement can destroy your image, the remote shutter release lets you operate the shutter without touching the camera or telescope. This remote shutter release can be used as an intervalometer too. You can set up regular timed shots to make a time-release sequence. Of course you can use it for a single timed shot. Under low light conditions or for long exposures, you can set it for bulb exposure... so much flexibility without touching the camera!Although this unit has a list of compatible cameras, I have a few Canon cameras and some weren't listed. I was able to add a C3 cable to this to use instead of the included C1 sync cable and could then use it with the rest of my Canon cameras! It's a big savings to only have to buy one.But if you want several to take concurrent of sequential shots, there is no worry that they were interfere or false trigger. You can set it to one of 32 RF channels. It works on the same channels as the Godox and compatible remote flash triggers, so you can be assured they will all interoperate without a problem.

We have several inexpensive wired remote shutter/intervalometers that all seem to originate from the same basic design. They program the same way and generally have the same features.Aside from the convenience of wireless, this Godox has a simple feature that our others don't. The function you are setting, such as DELAY or INTERVAL, is part of the backlit display. This doesn't seem like a big deal until you have to use it in the dark. The other intervalometers have the numbers backlit, but the words indicating what you are setting are printed under the display on the unlit display border, so you need to memorize the positions or use a flashlight to see the printing. The wireless shutter works over any distance that I need, and I didn't bother to check the 100 meter range claimed. This remote and the receiver might seem a little chunky but that's actually a good thing, at least for the handheld remote, as it gives enough room for decent-sized buttons and a thumb pad that you don't have to hunt for. The two AA cells used in each unit take up a lot of that space and give ridiculously long standby times. If you don't use this type of camera accessory every day it might be a good idea to use Eneloop or some equivalent long shelf-life rechargeable battery to avoid the leakage risk with alkaline batteries. We have quite a bit of Godox gear and we consider it a good brand. At $59 this seems like a fairly priced and high quality piece.
