I use this jar for walnuts and pecans. Easy to fill the jar and the top is air tight. Fits on a pantry shelf without taking up much room.

I purchased this large glass jar to use for fermenting purposes.It is sturdy glass, with a wide mouth opening, which allows me to put my hand into the jar to pack it firmly when fermenting sauerkraut.There are measure marks etched into the glass so you gauge how full the jar is.I’m very pleased with my purchase of this item!

I love it. This big square jar arrived perfect, and looks and feels sturdy. It has a nice big opening. I prefer that it is square because it will use up a little less space especially if stored beside other square jars. Though I've read that round glass is sturdier than square because 4 sides can be hit or chipped easier than round. The lid is easy to screw on, though is large, might require larger hands. It has a gasket that helps the lid to be more air tight. It holds a lot. Easy to wash because even a large hand can fit inside there to scrub or dry. The glass is not at all thin. It's at least as thick as a good quality mason jar. Though don't lose the lid because mason jar lids won't fit. This lid is much larger.I'm using it to hold dry cat food. I can't say how it is for liquid or if it leaks. It would be somewhat awkward to hoist many times a day, so I put a measuring cup inside, store it on an accessible shelf, and then all I have to do is unscrew the lid, measure out cat food, put the measuring cup back inside, and screw on the back lid. I might not like it as well if I had to lift it many times a day, especially if contents make it heavy. I would suggest using it for things like flour, sugar, pet food, dry goods, anything that can sit on the counter or an easily accessible shelf.
