I was able to use this to get my Samsung Note 9 attached to my telescope. The mount held my phone securely with excellent rubber grips. I've had some mounts that bumped your phone out of alignment because of insufficient grips - not with this unit.It took some fiddling to get everything lined up correctly and zoomed in. You need to use manual focus on your phone because it wants to focus on the inside of the mount. Once you get it lined up, though, it allows you to take decent shots through your scope.

The problem I’ve had trying to get smartphone-to-scope adapters working with my iPhone is that I can’t adjust the distance from the eyepiece to my phone’s camera. Either the camera is too far and tries to focus ON the eyepiece itself, or too close for properly focusing THROUGH the eyepiece to the subject being viewed through the telescope. This adaptable bracket solved that problem for me, in allowing me to adjust the position of the eyepiece inside the tube-and-screw assembly. The plastic screws can be well tightened without fear of damaging your eyepiece or scope objective. I finally got successfully phonescoping! The only issue I had is what I always fear with the solid aluminum that I otherwise prefer: Damaged screw threads. I ended up not needing the extension tube provided with this kit, but in the process of EXTREMELY CAREFULLY screwing and unscrewing the extension I discovered that the shorter tube with the screws had arrived with damaged threads — in fact, I could visibly see the damage (bright patches on the anodized threads) the moment I opened the package. Even with a great deal of care, I was barely able to finally succeed in getting the tube screwed onto the phone holding bracket. If I had been unable to do so, this product would have not worked for me and gotten 1 star. For this close call, and the product being barely workable straight from the factory, I feel obligated to rate this no higher than 3 stars. I have the same product with the 2 extensions and they were just fine, but this one did not make it safely out of the factory. This is a great product, but with a potentially fatal weakness.

I may mess with this thing enough to "get it to work", but 15 minutes of messing about with it and not getting any assurance of getting there I am going to give my review now anyway. I have seen others having variable success in their reviews, so I was happy to try the item out. It looks well made and innovative compared to some of the others I've tried, but honestly the jankiest, simplest one I've used has been the simplest, most easily adjusted of them. This unit connects well, but it just doesn't have a lot going for it in ease of adjustment. The clamps are not spring-loaded, for example, so trying to tighten screws while holding everything in place is not easily accomplished. I won't beat it too hard because I'm sure it will probably work better -on my 1-4x rifle scope whereas it is not great on my spotting scope. The eye relief on the rifle scope should allow some leeway in placement. I will still be on the lookout other mounts for telescopes and spotting scopes I think.

This is a very high quality metal adapter with a really good grip for a mobile phone even a large one like mine, with solid steel parts and non-scratching nylon tightening screws to secure the adapter to the scope.. Unfortunately the tube utilized to slip over the scope is very deep, so my spotting scope would not drop all the way into the adapter with the nylon screws, thereby not bringing the eyepiece right up to the mobile phone camera lens. This of course rendered the device unusable for my situation. I tried it on one side of some binoculars and had the same issue where the tube bumped up against the focusing wheel mechanism before it could completely drop in to the tube. The device is definitely made for just a narrow rifle scope, that seems like a very specific type of use, I was hoping to use it with a spotting scope mounted on a tripod, but I'll have to keep searching for solution.
