IMHO this is the best carpet tape available.Super adhesiveSuper strong with threadsLeaves very little reside on floor during removalPain in the butt to remove backing.Cut with blade, gums up scissors.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

It is sticky enough and effective if you can actually separate the liner from the tape . If you are VERY patient , you can separate but can’t do it with your hands only . Would not recommend buying .

I used this tape to repair a few spots in my older carpet that had pulled away from each other at intersections in my hallways. The tape is very effective for that purpose. I started by vacuuming the area under the two parts that are separated and measured just past each end to have a bit more grab to keep the edges once pulled together. Applying the first side to the floor and pressing the whole piece tightly to the floor I then had my helper hold up both edges of the carpet as I pulled the other backing to expose the sticky side facing up. I pulled one side of the carpet as tightly as possible and held pressure for about a minute and then did the same on the other side. Once the two pieces were joined, I laid a short board and kettlebell on top for my own peace of mind and left it there for a couple hours. I just wanted to be sure the carpet didn't try to pull back. So far this had held up in a high traffic area of my hallway and I am very happy with the results!

Item: Shurtape DF 545 Duck Pro Professional GradePrice: $18.79 at time of review on 10 22 23Having own two companies that manufactured printed commercial labels and nameplates, I’m very familiar with single and double sided tapes and lamination tapes. If you’re in the carpet installation trade you know this type of tape. It’s double sided, meaning that there’s a ‘release-liner’ that has to be removed so you can expose the backside of the tape, thus providing adhesion of two joining surfaces. With DF-545 Carpet Tape, the ‘release liner’ would be the medium-blue outer material that’s both shiny and very slippery smooth. Removing any release liner with lamination tapes or double-sided adhesive tapes is ‘usually done’ by the ‘slitting method.’ Simply, the ‘release liner’, after it has been applied to a double sided tape is sometimes slit, cut just deep enough to go through the liner only, not cutting the usable double sided tape. That allows you, the user, to more easily peel-away the liner. In this case the manufacturer hasn’t slit the liner. But with care you can.I use a single-blade box cutter device that I load with single-edged razor blades. An Exacto blade or a box cutter with a new blade (highly recommended) will also work. You can do this while the tape is on the roll. With carpet tape I run a ‘slit-cut’ across the width of the tape parallel to the tape end and about a half inch, or even less, from the tape end. You have to use controlled pressure when slitting release liner as you only want to go through the liner. With a new blade I do a few test cuts to figure out just what level of pressure to apply. If you’re successful, you'll have an available edge to more easily pick at, and then start your removal of the liner. I’ve included a short video with this review.This Shurtape brand DF-545 is one of a series of ‘Professional’ task-specific tapes. Shurtape, as printed on the inner core of the tape, manufactures this product domestically, using US and global materials. As a name brand, I like Shurtape because I’ve found it to be a quality tape that weathers better than inexpensive tapes. And in my shop if I’m going to use a tape in a critical application where I expect it to survive heavy use or exposure to regular physical movement, I look to this type of tape. And for carpet, I’ve tried using common duct tape and it just doesn’t hold for as long or as well. Additionally, the term ‘removable’ with any type of adhesive tape promises that you’ll be able to remove the tape and its adhesive components. So you also have that feature. The benefit is after removal you don’t leave an aggressive adhesive behind that’s going to require chemical or heavy abrasion when removed, leaving permanent marks.I was pleased to see this product come up for review and have no problems recommending it, especially because it’s showing (at the time of this review) as available on Amazon via Prime One Day. That also saves me a trip and time going to the store.

This product seems to be very good, I will update it once I have in place for a while.But must say that pealing the second side off of this tape is crazy difficult
