My two large dogs eventually broke the chain, because it was unable to support a lot of weight. These are not worth the money and make poor gifts for dog owners. Since this was a long time ago, I'm not sure if it successfully prevented damage from rain, soil erosion, or sun exposure, but we felt that our dogs would be well protected. I should be held accountable for not reading all of the warnings. Its 360° swivel buckle gives you greater mobility, which is fantastic. You may use it for vacation, camping, and yard work.Additionally, it can be used to hang plants and dry laundry, Additionally, it states "anti-theft," but I'll pass on that.

The quality of materials and construction of this chain is quite good. I found no flaws such as sharp burrs so it seems there was a finishing or polishing step performed.Quality throughout and general appearance is very good. The carabiners are high quality, though I am tempted to take a few swipes with a file to mellow a couple of high points. As long as the locking ring is locked down no worries about sharp edges but if a locking ring worked itself open the threaded area could potentially be problematic. There is no reason you have to use these carabiners though and they could be substituted with quick links.This chain is quite nice with a smooth feel and imperviousness to exposure to the weather, but it is not heavy duty. It is more like a medium duty chain; if you chain your dog it will appreciate this chain because it is not such a burden, but it is strong enough for a large dog and chew proof. Personally I will use it for other purposes not a dog. I have a separate use for these nice quality carabiners.

This is a good tie out chain. Not very heavy, so its good for smaller to medium dogs as well as being strong enough for the larger dogs.My dog literally can pull so hard that she will snap buckles and has snapped 3 of them, so while I was leary being that this chain is not heavy duty but I didnt want her dragging around heavy chain either... she's only ever on the tie out when I'm home. I actually got 2 of these so she has 40' of chain to give her plenty of roaming room.When I first put her on this, I attached her short cable to the chain so what is closest to her is plastic coated, but then we had an unwelcome visitor (small animal) and she pulled so hard that she snapped the cable snap attached to her collar but all parts of the chains remained intact and undamaged. So yeah, I'm sold.... its plenty durable unless you have a very large and and/or strong dog. My dog snaps the clips when she takes off after things, not from steady pulling, so take that into consideration with a much stronger instant force against her ties.Plus its very affordable and the attachments are actually heavy duty LOCKING carbineers, so extra protection against breaking.
