I never write reviews on Amazon, but this thing is great. It's very well made and sturdy. And the cup holder is do thoughtfully placed. It's perfect since I would never want to put a cup near my laptop, so I always needed something else to put my cup, but this thing let me just use this when I work. Height adjustment works very well. It's also easy to put together ❤️

When you get it built, it works well, the base fits under my couch, and the bed of course, though I'm unlikely to use it there. One negative, it should swivel out of the way. If I had first found a table like this that swiveled, I would have bought it instead.Now, putting it together, not so good. The most difficult part is the first step, installing the operating lever and the spring, which does not seat in any way, nor is it retained by the lever in a fashion that would corral the darn thing while you're trying to put it together. To do so, you need to hold two parts together so the spring doesn't pop out, and simultaneously try to thread a long bolt with a cheap, soft allen wrench with a big gap where the bolt can rattle around. If you have an allen wrench of your own with a driver it will be easier, but now I understand why the instructions call for "cooperative" assembly, meaning presumably where one person holds the assembly together while the other one fumbles around with the bolt, trying to get it threaded. There obviously could have been a better design. I consider it a minor miracle I managed it so quickly, luck I think, I could still be trying to keep that spring from falling out.Ed: After using this for a couple of days, it's not that useful. The only place it really fits is at the of the couch, and I can't get it low enough, the couch arms interfere. There's no way to put it in front of the couch, because (of course) there's a coffee table in the way. It can't work with my comfy chair, because the legs are solid, there's no gap. It seems to me this is basically meant to be a bed table, and that's about it. But I have no need for that. I'm not sure what the heck I'm going to do with this thing.
