I installed this a few months ago because the one that's on our front door in SF was very old and rusty. It blends in with our color theme in general and the mail slot door works and prevents air from just freely flowing into and out of the house.

This was an expensive mail slot for what you get - the metal is a little cheap and thin for the price. This would be a "value buy" at $20-25. The finish is on par with the price IMHO (antique brass in my case). Biggest complaint is that the screws provided are only compatible with a 1.5" thick door. For a 1-1.375" thick door, the screws collide with each other and thus all 8 had to be shortened with a Dremel. Since they are finish screws, hard to find shorter matching screws. There were no instructions provided whatsoever. The size of the guide hole had the be derived from the Amazon product image, and that still was not sufficient guidance. Shipping packaging was good, prevented scratches or damage in mailing. Would buy again but not at this price.
