I was a great idea but no instructions included. Diagrams printed on thick paper that would be difficult to pierce with regular needle. I should have had holes prepunched.

I like this book's approach to learning embroidery stitches via number. This made sense to me. There are a variety of stitches covered, and I am excited to try them out myself. I feel that two things are worth mentioning: 1) The needle points on each page are not punched out. This will have to be done by the user. The heavy paper used in this book is glossy on the front, so I plan to be extra careful when punching a needle through, to make sure it doesn't slip and possibly poke me. 2) I would have liked to see an image of the stitch I am learning, just as a point of reference, so I can see what my finished stitching is supposed to look like. Since the book comes in a two-pack, I plan to gift the second copy to someone else who is trying out embroidery for the first time as well.

I ordered these to teach myself how to sew. There are 2 books in here. This is excellent for beginners! Highly recommend to learn the different stitches.

This is made of cardstock so it's thicker then I was expecting. I got it to give as a gift to my son learning to stitch. It has several methods that are easy to understand. Can't wait to give this!
