It is very good. the heat has good distribution however it is very hot. Even the lowest level is still very high. Quality overall is good. It is worth the money.

The key to cooking a large paella is a good even heating source. Trying to navigate an 18" paella pan on say a gas stove top or grill is just too challenging. This stand/burner will give you an even, controllable, consistent heating source that is essential.Simple to assemble. I would suggest though to use washers (not included) in-between all the threaded connections. I used rubber ones and it is substantially more solid. I would also suggest prior to cooking, that you use a leveler to check that your pan is even. If uneven, you can make slight adjustments to the legs to help even it out. The igniter only worked the first time I used it but not a huge deal as you can just use a lighter. When not in use, easy to disassemble and store in the case provided OR ready to take to your event to be the star! This paella burner and stand is terrific and you will soon be a paella master achieving the soccarat!

It feels very cheap and not sturdy. While it is very easy to assemble, and it is east to move to a different location due to how lightweight it is, I wouldn't bother disassembling it and reassembling it. I think that it is marketed with the carry bag to imply that it is supposed to be not sturdy on purpose. The parts of the grill that hold the pan are not level/stable. If you rotate the pan, then the pan is not level and all of your oil or water will go off to the side of the pan. It is not a leg length or ground level issue, the pan is very hard to get level due to the quality of the build. The heat is not even. There is a very hot spot on the grill I found out after the first try making paella. That spot on the pan was burnt very badly. The solution is to move the pan a lot, but the parts of the grill that holds the pan are not level, so all of the water or oil will go to a side of the pan. So you're going to have a burnt spot. The pan: Already gone in the recycle bin. It felt really cheap/not good. And I already have a 20" pan of a much better quality, so I can't really comment on how well the pan works/doesn't work.So I bent the parts of the grill that hold the pan level and I blame myself for not checking before I started the first time. There is a little bit of aluminum foil over a few of the gas openings to reduce the hot spot. It's good after that. The good: The regulators are nice and work well. The propane fittings are also working well. For the cost, this is a way to go. And the consumer shouldn't have to block propane holes and bend parts straight.
