Got this to back up a very expensive Ultrasonic meter for measuring the thickness of a steel boat. Works great. Easy to calibrate and easy to figure out menus. Comes with batteries that charge via mini USB. Just tested on my MacBook Pro with 1mm thickness aluminum and yes it got it perfectly. What a deal. Buy it.

After adding a slight radius to the probe and fine tuning the frequency with a known dimension on the block, I was able to consistently measure engine block cylinder walls +-.001. Great price for decent hand held tool.

Bought this to complement a much more expensive model, to be able to have a backup. It gets the job done. It feels very flimsy and the probe wires are very fragile so be careful fraying them. Overall though, it works well and records measurements very closely to our expensive model.

I recently tested this ultrasonic thickness gauge, cross-referencing its accuracy with a positector. While it's essential to note that the precision may not reach micrometer levels, the gauge works reliably and lives up to its advertised capabilities. The build quality is robust, and the gauge delivers accurate thickness measurements within a satisfactory range. It's user-friendly, making it suitable for various applications where ultra-precision isn't critical. For those prioritizing functionality over micrometer-level precision, this ultrasonic thickness gauge proves to be a valuable tool, providing reliable measurements for a range of tasks. Just be aware of your specific needs before making a purchase. 📏🔧

I've done NDT for 10 years SNT-TC-1A LV II and have used a variety of UT meters, I bought this as I am now doing contract weld inspection work. We've been replacing valve sets and one of the processes needed before welding on our stopples is to verify existing pipe wall thickness. Before we called an NDT company I wanted to check thickness based on my own curiosity. We had a standard 4" X52 and from years of being around I know that's a .237W thickness. Put this little meter on and sure enough pulled .237, NDT company showed up on site and pulled .237W. Been using it on known wall thickness pipe and it pulls it right every time. I'm impressed to have this little unit as it does very well for the price, you cant beat it.
