Does what it's suppose to do. Could use improvements on the quality/thickness of the plastic casing and buttons. Feels like an $18-$20 product - cheap china stuff. The actual drive connectors do seem to be the standard plastic you find on motherboards. Functions exactly as stated and works well for what it is intended. Would recommend some kind of protected case if your throwing it in your tech bag

This unit is very reasonably priced and I love that it includes the M.2 NVME slot, something a lot of the other options don't include. As an adapter, I've had a great experience with this product.Unfortunately, the cloning feature doesn't seem to be as robust as it could be. I purchased this device to clone a failing HDD over to a NVME drive so I could pull files off there without repeatedly reading off the HDD. I tried doing the cloning process twice and both times it failed, producing a RAW partition. When I access the HDD itself through Windows, I can see the NTFS partition just fine even if I get some errors reading files.If the HDD has an accessible partition but the cloner can't recreate it, it must be running into errors and just giving up (??). Like, I know this hard drive has errors on it - I opened the thing up to fix a stuck read head after all - but I expected the cloner feature to be more robust (or have a "do the best you can" option) and at least give me the same thing I see when I open the drive in Windows directly. Maybe it does file-level copying instead of block-level, but whatever the process it's not up to par when dealing with less-than-perfect hardware.Maybe the cloning works with a perfectly healthy drive but I think a lot of people will be using a device like this in more of a data recovery situation.
