It is my opinion that bait bags are the way to go for crabbing. They consistently draw in big mature alpha males over females and smaller juveniles I think because they can actively dismantle small pieces and start a feeding frenzy that lasts a fairly long time. If you just put raw chicken/fish wired in without a bag the first crab there will devour it or run off with the bait. This forces the crabs to stay causing some survival of the fittest, the large males usually fight for it chase of the betas and stay to mow down. Way better than Scotty Bait cups which I only use for prawning now. Bait bags or nothing (50 years experience fishing and crabbing on the Queen Charlotte Islands.

Easy to clip in and tie up to crab pot. Easily stretches to accommodate larger bait and multiple baits. Has held up well during a week long crabbing session.

Easy to use any size bait. Stands up very well. Worth every penny. Crabs can't tear it apart like every other bait jar I have used

Crabs definitely cannot rip through this one! A bit large for regular round clamping crab traps and makes it a bit heavy to throw if chucking offshore. Price is okay for what you're getting.

This bag is super heavy duty and will last me for many years. It is reasonably compact with nothing in it, but stretches out to hold a surprisingly large amount of bait - like the size of a whole young turkey. The cinch rope is absurdly long, but wasn't an issue for me. I used it to tie off the bait bag to the top of my crab trap.
