I live on a suburban street with a grass median, so after an election, my street is littered with election signs that have outlived their value to inform our choices. To beautify my neighborhood, I collect signs to my house, where I cut their steel wire stakes into short lengths that I put in a cardboard box, tape shut, and discard safely with my regular trash pickup. Some wire stakes are 5/32" ≈ 0.156" ≈ 3.97 mm in diameter. Cutting these is easy, with one squeeze of one hand. The spring speeds one-handed operation. Some wire stakes are 11/64" ≈ 0.172" ≈ 4.37 mm in diameter. Cutting these is more difficult. I bought model 71 32 200 with the notch. The notch helps me get the wire farther into the jaws for more leverage on the wire. The "Comfort Grip" keeps my hands from slipping when I squeeze with both hands. Also, when I bought my house, it came with a roll of 4 foot tall wire fencing in the shed. After I bought this cutter, I finally got around to cutting up the roll, boxing it, and putting it out with my regular trash pickup. My photo shows my second, smaller box that I used to finish the job. Maybe I did this the hard way, but each cut was easy with the notch and spring. Just lots of cuts! This professional quality tool is a delight for my occasional use as a homeowner. Made in Germany. 🇩🇪

Knipex, the brand i let my self pay a bit more to get.Usally with no regnet, BUT, What in the world is this? A stunning and sharp tool, good grip and jaws that cut thru all materials i need to cut, If I dont use the most inner part of the bultcutters "jaw", cause there they lowerd the cutting edge for some reason? And there where the tool is strongest, you cant cut anything!?...its some kind of squeeze thing, and when fully closed it leaves a mm (inch) or so, still open. Right there, where you as a user, can apply less power to cut thru the tool dont cut? And maybe im dumb and bought the wrong wire/bult cutter? Never seen this kind before, didnt even know they exist, and wish they didnt. Queit much money spent on a crappy tool. It still cuts very well, but to insert your material deep and then move it out 1cm. (thats an inch) is almost impossible to have any use of such cutter. Takes to much time, and every 2nd cut is in the wrong place, and you just press the material a bit, maybe cut 50% and squeez the other 50%. To apply max preasure on the same "bolt" 2-5 times, just to get 1 cutthru, is annoying and you will soon give up, and go back to your old cutter, it's probably weaker? But atleast it get the job done in 1 go. I bought one, so you dont have to.
