Introduced this to our 4-year old granddaughter, who is really enjoying building words with it (with adult support). She is now mature enough to understand that the letter shapes need to be handled sensibly (and with care). The pieces are tactile and she loves handling them.The product can be used and enjoyed informally by simply making words together. But the Teaching Guide gives very detailed & helpful information about the order of progression for more structured activities.

Easy to use, portable, self-contained and stores well. The phonics doubles are a little advanced yet for my 3 year old so I set those aside for later. We enjoy spelling words together and learning about letters. The pieces are light weight and foam, and the magnets work well. For the price it is definitely worth it. A toy that encourages learning.
