This hydrator has holes on two sides, which is good. The cons are, it is very stiff, so it's like whack-a-mole in that it just keeps popping out of the hole. I don't think it has ever stayed flush. It is also considerably bigger in diameter, just barely fitting in the hole. If you get one, be sure to squeeze out the water adequately or it will drip in your cello. This is important with any hydrator, but particularly with this one. Since the tube is white, when it sticks out of your cello (and it will... it's too stiff to bend enough), it will be visible to the audience. I bought it because the Dampit brand was unavailable. If you can purchase a Dampit, it will be much better.

Cap came off with little use. The humidifier landed up in the cello and I had to take it to a repair shop to get it out.

After using this for some time I’ve found that it can help increase the humidity by a significant enough amount to help, and while I haven’t had any cello cracks before, there has been evidence towards proving these sponges can help. I live in a fairly dry area when it’s winter time and so getting one of these has helped give me peace of mind knowing it’s one less thing that can happen to it.
