Great little lunch box, I use this at work to warm up my food for lunch after its been in the fridge. the warmer plate heats up fast but does take a bit to warm up the entire lunch bag. its not huge but is just enough to fit a good size portion. I used the older zip lock microwave safe plastic storage container set the hot plate to 150 and let my soup simmer for about 30 minutes. my soup was perfectly warm and stated fresh off the stove versus the odd taste that can come from microwaving food. It is very easy to use and clean. I got the 110 cord version but a 12v cord version is also available. IF I had to mention a downside I wish it came with both cord options in 1 to make it more versatile.

I only received this portable oven yesterday. My review will focus on my initial observations after testing it to make sure that it works properly.These are what I observed:1) The oven's heating plate heats up very quickly. I set it to 230F and in less than a minute I can already feel the heat that it generated. However, it will definitely take more time for the heat to warm up your food depending on the container you are using.2) You can turn on the oven by pressing the temperature control knob once. Press it again to turn off the oven.3) The zippers initially did not work as smoothly for me as I expected. They seem to be getting stuck when I tried closing the cover after warming up the oven. However, the zippers are now working fine after opening and closing them a few times. My initial impression is that there is nothing special about the zippers despite the "scientific design" claim on the Amazon listing.4) The portable oven comes with a detachable plug and instructions.5) The carrying strap is an ordinary strap that is not padded. However, it can be easily detached and replaced if needed so this is not a dealbreaker for me.To summarize, I think that this portable oven will do a good job. I also appreciate the ability to control the temperature. However, it is not perfect (the carrying strap could be better).I will update this review if I will encounter some issues after using this portable oven. But if I do not update this review, it means that I am still happy with this product.

Short story... it works, and work well. Potential as a father's day gift...Long story... I was very skeptical about anything called an "Electric Lunch Box", however I work in an office of 50+ people and we have 2 microwaves in the break room. So if I can skip the line for the microwave and still have a hot lunch then I'm willing to take this thing for a test drive...I have learned to use this with a glass snap lock container. I keep the snap lock lid on the container to keep the moisture in, but I do release the two longer locks. You will have to look around, but there are glass containers that fit in the warmer near perfectly.The instructions are simple, plug it in and 20 - 30 minutes later you food is warm. Well I don't like warm food, I like hot food. I used the 110v plug, and my food started off at 45 degrees; I turned on the button and opened the vent hole in the top of the lid.After 30 minutes, the top of my food was 95 degrees to 110 degrees due to the 3 different foods I was heating up all together. So about 2 lbs of food was warm in 30 minutes. One thing I didn't mention is that I had taken the congealed gravy (about 1 cup) sliced it like butter and laid it over the top of the food to help with the moisture. After 30 minutes the gravy was still mostly congealed, but starting to melt. However the food at the bottom of the tray was 175 degrees, and would have burned if I did not turn off the warmer.So after 30 minutes, I put the lid back on the assembly, and turned of the power, and let it sit for 15 minutes. I then turned it back on and let it run for 15 minutes more. Then 15 minutes off, and then another 15 minutes on. So the total run time was 1 hour, with 30 minutes of resting.I took it to the break room and when I opened it up a huge cloud of steam rose from the tray; there was moisture that had condensated on the lid, and all the gravy had perfectly melted over the turkey, stuffing, and potatoes. Everything was perfect, if not a little on the hot side. It smelled so good, that I forgot to take a temperature reading, and I was just hungry at this point, but it was not so hot that I could not eat it right away. I suspect the moisture was due to the bottom of the tray being really hot, so adding the gravy made the difference between perfection and disaster.There was just the slightest bit of toasted, not burnt, but toasted potatoes on the bottom of the glass dish. That tells me that the heating element does not have a temperature safety control and will go into thermal run away if you are not careful.Here is my suggestions:1) Use a timer, and heat food for 15 minutes, then let cool for 15 minutes. Repeat until food hits desired temperature. I have a fixed timer on my Android phone for 15 minutes, so that works well.2) Put sauce on top of food so it does not cook off the moisture early on and separate. If you put sauce on the top, step #1 and sticking to 15 minutes is important.3) Try not to open the lid, trust the process and it will work best if the moisture remains with the food.4) Set a timer on your work calendar to start your food, so it is ready when you plan to eat lunch. Good luck with that if your job is chaotic and unpredictable.5) Wash your dishes right away and keep the glass snap lock dish clean.6) Outside of the canvas gets warm. Do not set it near anything that is heat sensitive.7) Be aware that the bottom of the tray will be much hotter than the topI did not try the 12v Automobile supply cord, so I don't know if it has a different heating time.What this is really missing is an app where you can set a temperature for the heating element, and modulate the on/off time, such as 15 minutes on, then 15 minutes off, etc. This thing would excel if it has a little modern technology. Bonus points if the app was watch compatible.Overall this electric food warmer was a completely unexpected winner, however since it does not have a temperature setting like similar models I took off one star.PROs:+ Works as advertised, 2 lbs of food warmed in 30 minutes+ Can get food hot+ Dual power source compatible (110v / 12v)+ Best lunch I've had in a long time...CONs:- Insulated travel bag is cheap.- Needs to be supervised, unlike a slow cooker.- Needs a little more modern technology (app / temp control)
