These erasers are softer and more plastic than the grey kneaded erasers I've seen for the past forty years. It could very well be that there has never been another eraser like them.These are supremely soft, especially when new. In my work, I will stretch these out to the extreme, which gives them a delicate, puffy softness with which I can clean graphite and charcoal dust with out smearing or erasing the more deliberate contours I need to remain in place and visible.These erasers do not crumble the way others do. They are far more elastic.I appreciate the plastic clam shells each eraser now come with. Others do not, and regard them as so much excess plastic waste and unwelcome cost. Faber-Castell would do well to sell the erasers with and without the clam shells.I've only scratched the surface with these erasers. I love them, but I'm certain other, more experienced artists have more to say about them.

I bought these erasers for my middle school homeschool art class. I wanted the kids to experience high quality materials that are such a joy to work with. I haven't used them myself very much, but they seem to do the job and the kids like them! It was nice that they have their own case and some color options to help the kids feel more a sense of ownership of them. I let them write their name on the case.
