I picked this up for the times I travel and know that I won't be able to stop to paint, but will still want to work on watercolor from photos either in the car or hotel room. There's a lot to love with this little kit!*Value!: I was surprised to get THIRTY watercolor postcards, 3 mini water brushes, a mini wooden palette, clips, and a travel case for this price. The entire set snapped closed is smaller than a standard 5.5 x 8.5" notebook (see photo)*Case design and quality: The elastic band has a secure snap, and one end is sewn on so the strap can't be left behind or misplaced. The back of one of the trifold sections works as an ideal "easel" for the postcard because the sections are rigid even though they're made of felt. The business card pockets hold a book of stamp and/or a business card holder palette. Two full length pockets hold both blank and painted cards. The center section can be rearranged to hold a pen and pencil in addition to the 3 small brushes and the wooden folding palette. Clips can be placed anywhere they don't interfere with the contents or the fold.*Paper quality: I really enjoyed painting on these polypropylene watercolor postcards. I was able to achieve wet in wet, wet on dry, softened and lost edges, and dry brush. The paper dried quickly.*Mini wooden palette: A fun way to carry 8 colors. They tiny cups filled perfectly with 5 ml tubes and a toothpick. AFfix a clip in the top to keep the palette stable during use.*Water brushes: Surprisingly good! They don't hold much water, but the waterflow was even and the brushes came to good points for detail work.Overall, I think this would be a fun gift for any watercolor artist. The price point is excellent, the novelty (and cuteness factor) is high, and the quality and quantity of the included tools is very good. The paintis NOT included, but most artists already have a collection of paint. Sampler packs of 5 ml tubes of paint are available at most craft and art stores as well as here on Amazon.

I'm very happy with the quality of the entire kit. It's small and exactly what I wanted. The paper takes watercolor well, though I have not tried heavy washes. I did tape the paper down as I usually do to a plastic board to work on. The brushes are nice and don't leak nor flood the paper as I paint. I'm happy with the tiny pallette and the magnets that hold it together. A binder clip holds the open palette securely to my small acrylic board. The felt carrying case is really made well. It's heavy weight felt and well stitched. The edges are finished as well. The pockets fit 10 post cards in each side. Or fill the second pocket with a paper towel or other small items you need. I added a mechanical pencil and I'm off to paint my day! So happy!

I have to give three starts. The cars do not fit in the pockets. The post cards are not bad, and the watercolor brushes are good. The little wooden pan is way smaller than expected. Can’t get paints in it without making a mess.
