Love these sponges. The orange sponge is wonderful for throwing; it takes away most of the water for a firmer wall. With the white sponge you can clean imperfections off your greenware without pulling up grog from the clay -- a nice smooth finish. I haven't used the blue sponge yet.

I'm still just getting started in throwing clay, but these sponges help get the sides smooth and help smoothly shape the lip of cups ect. They seem to be holding up for the few times I've used them. Again, just learning as a hobby, not a professional potter, but I'd definitely buy them again if they happen to tear or deteriorate in the future.

these are great tools. I cant say enough good things about them. the only bad part is the price for what it is. ouch. but that being said, get a set, you will love working with them. then try not to ruin them too fast. ;)

I fell in love with the mud sponges at the studio I use and found myself hoping that it was available in the communal sponge bucket we have. Not saying I would fight over a sponge but this is the best sponge in the studio. Due to covid and the nature of sharing tools, I bit the bullet and bought myself a set. It's really expensive but it's a good investment since they last longer and don't shed sponge pieces into the clay. Now I can always be sure that my favourite sponge is waiting for me in the studio. Each color has a different density and in turn it's nice to have a variety to see what you use the most. The one I used in the studio was the white one so it's the one I'm most used too. The blue is the softest and is the most flexible good for bulk throwing. The orange absorbs the most water and I think I'll use it to center or open up the clay. The white is the most stiff and sturdy but holds the least amount of water so it's good for finishing.
