I bought this light for a wedding that had to be shot in many locations. The requirement for small size and power was met, as well as the ability to connect via a USB power bank and V-mount battery. The light is beautiful and powerful and takes up little space in the bag, the control is great. from the disadvantages, plastic is quite cheap and it is not known how long it will to use

This Color Wonder W100 LED Video Light came up in my feed, and I thought this is a really interesting item, so I decided to try it out.When I opened the box, I was surprised at how thin the Light Module was; it seems more like a large smartphone or compact travel camera. It weights about 12 oz (345 gm), has a mini-Bowens mount reflector with a silicone dome. This is nice! The silicone will resist heat warping and damage, but I’m going to have to be careful to not transfer grease or oils to the surface; I don’t know how porous the silicone will be.Controls are simple; there is a rotating cylinder that controls the light output and color temperature; it’s wide enough for your thumb and it’s easy to figure out. There’s 1/4-20 threads on the bottom and right side.The AC adapter is a good length, and I really liked how there’s a safety strap so you can hang this safely off the ground.I tend to shoot for roving interviews, and having something portable with this kind of output is great! The Dome is great for softening the light, and the output is pretty spot on for it’s rating.I’m thinking that I’m going to use this on the end of a pivot arm on my setup, but having an extra 350gm weight on a gimbal extension is pushing it. But in a fixed tripod and stand setup, this is a great addition as a nice fill or highlight source.
