It is definitely a sturdy mount, but mine came with lots of scratches and chips. Even the replacement unit was shipped in the same state. The damage maybe is due to how they package and ship, so yours might get shipped like that as well. It also produces a lot of residue; I think it is coming from the holes. I wanted to use this to setup a LED camera light in my room, but it is kind of messy.

This clamp offers me the ability to put my cameras in almost any situation and as an aside also provides a strong support for my amateur radio antennas

Very well made and solid mounting bracket. This bracket has a bunch of different mounting holes so you can attach other accessories. It will securely hold your heaviest professional light fixtures. Just be sure the surface you attach it to can also support the weight.It will be using this clamp to put my video lights exactly where I need them for the best result without having to move around a heavy C-Stand. I think you should have a few of these to help with lighting setup to get lights where you need them.

I still think it's a bit odd that they ship this thing with the baby pin installed on the wrong side as you can see in the last picture of this review. Perhaps is to keep the shipping box smaller. Regardless full assembly of this kit takes less that 2 minutes.This thing is super solid. I would have no problem mounting my larger 200W video lights on this clamp. The metal bracket is incredibly strong. The baby pin is secured very well to the plate with 2 screws. They did cheap out just a bit by having the handle on the tightening screw be plastic.That being said this is a much less expensive option vs other similar options from very well known brands in the video production world. For what you are getting I feel you are getting a lot of value for your money. This isn't a clamp that is going to break on you anytime soon. It's a solid build quality.
