This is a really nice translator that you can use in many different situations.Has an external speaker as well as ear buds for listening to the translation.Supports multiple languages in offline mode without an internet connection.Arabic, Chinese (traditional/simplified), English, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Thai, Vietnamese.Online mode lets you access many more languages and dialects.Easy to choose your source language to be translated and the language you want it translated to.Simple push button to start and stop translating.Very short pause (less than a second) to process the translation before it starts playing it back to you.I am extremely happy with the quality and accuracy of this translating device.Excellent value for a pocket translator.

I'm very surprised at how well this little device works. Yes, there are apps that you can download to have similar function like this on your phone, but what sets this apart is that it's strictly made for one purpose, to translate. It won't be bogged down by all the other apps and you can use this safely without having to pull your phone out. Or you can use this to speak to someone while using your phone to reference other things like maps, subway schedules etc. It's super easy to use - pick the two languages and press one of the two tactile buttons and speak in the language next corresponding to the button, it will translate to the other language. You can have a conversation like this back and forth. It's similar to using an old 'walkie-talkie' and in less than a second it spits out the translation. It also shows on the screen the written translation and if you tap on the written bubble it will repeat the audio translation again. There's a couple of modes this works in - online and offline.Online mode means that you're connected to Wifi or your phone's hotspot.Offline mode means it's completely self-sufficient.In offline mode, there's about 15 languages that is stored:Arabic, Chinese (traditional/simplified), English, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Portugese, Russian, Spanish, Thai, Vietnamese. In online mode, there's significantly more languages and variations of languages. For example when selecting 'Spanish' while in online mode, it provides options for 'Spain', 'Mexico', and a few other countries. Some odd things to note:- There did not seem to be an option to 'download' the languages from online mode to the offline mode. I believe you're stuck with the 15 or so languages from the above. Odd considering the settings show that there's 9GB of 16GB of storage available.- In headphone mode, the unit kept asking for network connectivity, even when picking the offline languages. Seems offline mode only works with the built in speaker.Overall I think this is a very good product. I tested a few languages with friends (French, Italian, Vietnamese and Chinese) and we were all surprised at the accuracy and speed of the unit.
