I rarely write negative reviews, even less than 5 star reviews as I’m pretty meticulous with purchases. Maybe I got a defective product & I am reasonably wary of negative reviews but the ones on this mirror my experience.Maybe you just like the idea of clean air & don’t actually have allergies but I am allergic to virtually anything you can inhale in the air other than oxygen, so I would know if a purifier actually works.I own 3 different Winix units which I’ve had for years and still work like brand new. After trying this AirDoctor unit out, I also no longer wonder why Costco carries Winix. There are actually purifiers out there this bad. Again, maybe it’s a defective unit but for something claiming to be even more effective than HEPA, I expected good quality control.I had the worst allergies I haven’t had in years when this thing was around. It seems to just spread dirty air around. I figured it might be the purifier causing the severe allergies when I disinfected a room with my UV lamp and it did absolutely nothing, even after hours of leaving it on max fan speed, to remove the typical post UV lamp smell in the air. I became highly suspicious of this after that, as my Winixes can remove that smell within minutes, and lo and behold, when I stopped using this purifier after that incident, my allergies resolved. The sensor on this never even turned any color other than blue, indicating clean air, when my Winixes turn red on obvious VOCs in the air. They go off even when I’m just using rubbing alcohol on my hands, even a few feet away. This? Absolutely nothing. No turning red. I don’t even know if it turns yellow. Never saw it. And I’m ironically glad it never increased speed on its own as that would have probably made me sicker. The noise level on this thing on max speed by the way is unbearably loud but looking back now was a minor inconvenience compared to the allergies I was getting.I highly advice that you do not toss even the outer box that this is packaged in, just in case, if you still would like to try it out for yourself. I did that as I just trusted that it would work after doing my research on this before buying it and it was a headache repacking it.

The outside of the box says Designed In California-Made In China. Usually such deception would warrant a one star, Ive made an exception. I'll make this short. At first a bit of odor but after running for a couple of hours any odor is gone. it does have an ionizer. i love the WiFi. The carbon filter is substantial. I was suspicious when it went immediately to blue. So, I took one of my wife's face creams, opened it and placed it near the sensor, in a few seconds it turned orange, I was impressed. So, this unit stays in the living room; it's a beast and my living room is large.

Have been using it for about a month so far I’m happy with it.

I am enjoying the air purifier. It works great. When I am cooking or dusting it detects the additional particulate matter within seconds and the indicator light goes to yellow or red and back to blue once the air is clear again. It is quiet in blue mode and only noticeable when it ramps up to yellow or red. I would recommend it, especially for allergy sufferers.
