This device works great. It's simple and quite flexible in terms of connectivity.

Loved the easy setup. So simple. Works on my smart TV, so now I can watch/listen to TV, YouTube, Netflix, etc. late at night without disturbing anyone. The product has a small footprint, and I have been taking it with me on vacations. All you need is a TV that has both an HDMI plug and a 3.5 mm plug.

Easy install. Works great. I was using my headphone jack from my stereo to my Ruko tv but for some reason it stopped working. The headphone jack in the tv was defective. So I purchased this adapter plugged it in and instant stereo! Now be aware that the HDMI cable is not included so that a extra expense. So when you purchase this unit make sure you purchase the HDMI cable also. Plus make sure your tv has a arc port. Now with that being said the headphone jack is the cheapest and easiest way to go. Just get a cord that plugs into your RCA jacks and the other end will plug into your tv headphone jack. You can do that for under 10 bucks. But this product works great but it's going to cost around 35 bucks when all is done. I do recommend this product.

Funciono mucho para una pantalla Samsung que tiene entrada hdmi y no óptica ya que tengo una barra de sonido con entrada óptica. Lo conecte y por si sola me lo detecto.

I needed an apparatus to be able to hook up my Vizio TV screen to my receiver so I could use my speakers. My receiver only had RCA connections and no HDMI connection so I needed this adapter which was easy to hook up and works beautifully. The price was great compared to the $179 one recommended by on-line help at an electronics company. A bonus is this one doesn't have to be plugged into a wall electrical outlet but hooks up to my TV for power which is what I wanted. I have had it hooked up for a couple of weeks so I can't comment on longevity.

I got this because I am using powered monitors for TV audio in my bedroom. Normally you would use an audio interface on a desk to adjust the volume, but since I'm using it with a TV I need to be able to control the volume with a remote. I only want to use one remote with my TV, so either a fire stick or roku remote with volume control. This device comes into play because it plugs into the ARC port, which allows the TV to send a volume control signal to it. The adapter has RCA L/R as well as a headphone jack that can be controlled via the volume control on a TV remote over ARC. Note that SPDIF (optical) only carries a digital signal and is not controllable via TV volume output.Testing this device with an LG TV using a fire stick input on HDMI 1 and a short HDMI cable connected to HDMI 2 (ARC) connected to the audio extractor seems to work as expected. Adjusting the volume on the LG remote sends a signal to the audio extractor and changes the volume output on both the RCA and headphone jack. I'm using RCA to connect my powered monitors. Another use case can be to connect the RCA outputs to a small amplifier and use that to power a set of bookshelf speakers. Both setups allow for a full wall mounted setup with no receiver needed, perfect for a bedroom with limited space. My main problem with this device and the reason for 4 stars is that you cannot use a low quality USB power adapter. I tried all my phone chargers, usb chargers, and even power banks. Since there is an amplifier creating the RCA and headphone output, it uses the 5V input to power itself. The internal power supply is very poor at filtering, so you can actually hear the internal switching of low quality USB chargers. I ended up using the USB output of my TV to power it, but I would much rather be able to control it via 120V. So keep in mind that if you can plug in headphones and hear static or other noises with no HDMI connection, you will need a different source of power. And just because a charger is high quality doesn't mean that it is a clean 5V for powering audio devices.
