The "good":- It has a good size that gives you plenty of leverage- The corkscrew is fixed (rather than one that unscrews)- The gears/cogs are mostly enclosed, so there is less chance of catching your fingersThe "not so great":- It is weighty, but doesn't really feel expensive or elegant in any way- The "rubber" grips are more plastic and rigid than soft and flexible- The plastic ring that is supposed to stop/hold the bottle is just a tad too big--such that it snapped down on the bottle. It was harder to get the opener off the bottle than it was to remove the cork.Overall, this opener does what it is supposed to, but the price feels a little high for the material and usability.

I gave this product 5 stars ONLY because it performs it’s intended design use, and at a price point where one should not expect to receive a heavy-duty tool.My old cork remover was a tool that you screwed into the cork, and it had a “tee” handle where you pull the cork out with a twist. My wife could not us this “tee” style tool, so I ordered this lever action tool. It’s a bit clumsy to twist this screw into the cork, but doable. The rubber lever handles are nice, and it will easily leverage the cork out. We quickly learned to screw the tool into the cork AS FAR AS IT COULD GO before you tried to extract, because if you didn’t – there wasn’t enough travel on the levers to completely remove the cork. You can see in my pictures that the screw is so far into the cork that it sticks out the bottom of the cork in order to work properly. This has the feel of a light duty tool, so I would be embarrassed to give this to someone as a gift. It may hold up for us in use, but it appears to be something that was bought at wally world.

I tried to open two bottles in a row. Both failed. Instead of penetrating into cork and grabbing it, the opener pulverized the cork without any grab. I even put the second bottle on the floor and push on the wine opener, but it did not help. The bottles had corks dryer than usual I must note. However, it should have still worked. My friend had a cheap battery-operated wine opener, which was able to open both bottles. This one went right into the the trash bin. And I have also noticed that tip of the wine opener is very sharp. If not careful, you may hurt yourself. I wanted to give better rating but I cannot rate a wine opener which cannot open a bottle.

Very nice Elegant design. Great for home,kitchen,home bar and for wine rooms. Zing alloy body looks shiny and smooth. Strong rubber grips and stainless steel. It has also beer opener place on top and you can hang it on hooks in kitchen. Highly recommend 👍 Good quality for value. Very happy. Also I will buy it again as a gift for my people birthday.
